A new future for Brisbane's historic Naldham House

Since Brisbane’s beginning as a city, the junction of Eagle, Mary and Margaret Streets has been a place to do business and trade. Now, in a new chapter for the heritage-listed Naldham House, Dexus and one of Brisbane’s leading hospitality groups DAP & CO., will invigorate this historic building. Together, they are set to deliver a destination that sits at the pinnacle of the Australian Hospitality industry.

Brisbane-based DAP & Co Hospitality Group was formed in 2011 being a partnership between successful restaurateur Andrew Baturo and music industry and events heavyweights Paul Piticco and Denis Sheahan. DAP & CO. will restore Naldham House to its former grandeur, providing Brisbane with a world class food and entertainment precinct.

Eddie Giraldo, Head of Retail Leasing (Dexus) said, “We are proud to partner with DAP & CO. to reactivate the iconic Naldham House that has been restored to protect and respect its historical significance to the city.”

Andrew Baturo shared: “DAP & CO. is thrilled to bring our next chapter to life within the walls of one of Brisbane’s grandest and most gorgeous buildings. We are remaining tight lipped on the details of this project. As the cliché goes – watch this very beautiful space.”

Imbued with Brisbane’s spirit of endeavor and enterprise, the facade of Naldham House is a beloved landmark with classical architecture sitting prominently on Mary Street.

Architecturally significant, the origins of Brisbane’s river trade are deeply entwined in the story of Naldham House. Built in the late 1870s as a shipping office, the building oversaw the arrival of cargo and rise of businesses that shaped the city.

In 2022, a legacy is reinvented with Naldham House, this breathtaking renovation is alongside the existing Eagle Street Pier dining precinct, which is already home to 15 restaurants, bars and cafés.

Following the successful re-mixing of the Eagle Street Pier precinct throughout 2020, activating Naldham House reflects a positive sentiment in the Brisbane CBD dining scene.

The reactivation of the restored Naldham House in partnership with DAP & CO. will position this landmark building for the next stage of evolution of the broader precinct as part of Dexus’s city-shaping Waterfront Brisbane precinct project.

Naldham House History

  • 1944 - 2015 | Embracing Naldham House’s classical architecture, the Brisbane Polo Club takes over and operates the building as a private club and conference destination

  • 2016 - 2020 | Dexus takes ownership and plans a revitalisation of the building and its surroundings as part of the Waterfront Brisbane precinct vision.
